I once asked a Lease Operator there if he ever ran into any Cottonmouths in that area and he said no. The Gators had eaten them all.
He once got stuck on some raised road leading down to Cameron because a big Gator had decided to take a nap on the road. He could not turn around and he did not want to back up for ten miles. He kept honking his horn until the Gator decided to lumber off.
People that don't work in the oil business have no idea of the weird stuff that goes on to bring that stuff to market.
