This is the long term problem. Politicians of most developed countries are loading every family within their borders with debt responsabilities and obligations beyond their level to absorb or pay.

The government will come for personal assets eventually I imagine in one way or another. There is an old saying that governments will do anything rather than surrender power unfortunatly.

Although people rant against socialisim this is a sure fire way to eventually have it. I am not for it myself but it is not a really optional course under certain circumstances. Slogans like we are all in it together usually procceed the event. I always was amused by the expression re arranging chairs on the titantic as representative of our system in the last twenty years or so. As was stated it truly might be better if a country was run by a crew of drunken sailors. At least the future would not be sold out.

The real question that cannot be avoided is how long can this current state of affairs go on until it just cannot function anymore? Fifty one percent of americans polled reciently stated they expect an american financial collapse in the next twenty five year time frame.

That time frame may be a little optimistic in my opinion. Like an airplane with little choice after the point of no return is passed. The serious danger is that point may have passed or will not be recognizable when it does occur. Perhaps Larry is right. (cough, cough, choke,choke, my vision is getting blurry as well. I think I feel the onset of a stroke)

In that we might concievably be better off if the government was a group of drunken sailors. They might not totally eventually sell out the whole population.
