The locking diffs certainly made a difference as did my shorter wheelbase but again, i'm a novice so i'm still very surprised. Also I should mention that the morning began with trying to get one of the series started....then on the highway the hood from another 88 series rover literally came flying off and had to be stapped down after its recovery... classic rovering  I like those guys, they do persevere.
