I am of the opinion that if there was money to be made in it the power companies would be pushing solar to help out with the load on the home. I guess when it gets to the point that it would be more cost effective to install home solar in every house than it cost to build a nuclear power plant (SO is finding out right now
) you will see more home solar. If someone could come up with a solar powered 3 ton capacity house a/c unit they could retire early
