My personal issue is that the oil industry is building more infrastructure, further enabling the poisoning of this planet. Thus my hope for a slipshod f**kup of a job that will be mired in lawsuits and assorted other bickering for the next 20 years.

This being said, I'm sure the people who are having their land raped by the pipeline are being compensated. Whether the compensation is adequate is an open question, and unknown to you and I. Is it per acre, and does it take into account that a parcel that's split is worth less per acre than the same parcel intact? Does it take into account the risk of future financial losses from spills from the pipeline? Etc.
