I've been running the Salt for many years and yes, there are some killer runs there, approaching class 3 and 4 during runoff. I helped about 20 years ago with the recovery of a guy who died during spring runoff. Head injury, no helmet. My kid has been kayaking since he was big enough to hold a paddle and is far more serious than his old man. I never cared much for kayaking, preferring to stay closer to the beer cooler on the support raft.
