My Dad sold his SL just before he got sick. It was Tope with a red interior.
It had been repainted and mechanically restored, but a fuel delivery issue caused the car to sit outside under a cloth cover for a couple of years. The car rusted out in front of the windshield horribly. Dave L'Episco of Sport Tune Motors in Baldwin or Freeport bought the car. Dave is also deceased now. Wondering who might have this car. It had an extra mercedes knob installed on the dash that killed the ignition as a theft preventative measure, and the grille had been repaired and rechromed with a bit of welding wire which was proud of the design. It should have been ground off before plating!
