You threw me a curve ball. I went through the pics and thought the little diesel was in the Apache, not the bread truck.

The Apache panel trucks were actually quite common in those days. They were almost always in commercial use so they got worn out and scrapped pretty early. There was a TV series called Rescue 8, ca. 1959. It was about hero's attached to the Fire Department that had a panel truck full of ropes and climbing gear and all sort so life saving equipment that went around being heroes every week. Maybe that's their panel truck.
