so, your father, instead of seeking psychological help for his post traumatic stress, instead, selfishly, forced his child (children?) to hear - and re-hear, obviously - his horror filled reminiscences, in order that he might achieve some catharsis? sounds pretty pathetic - in the true meaning of the word, i.e. pathos - and abusive. sorry for your pain. hope you have sought help for the after-effects of such abuse.
