Clapton pretty much 'borrowed' J.J. Cale's style, lock stock and barrel for Slowhand. Never sat too well with me, but didn't seem to bother Mr. Cale, or his career much. The two of them shed some interesting perspective on it during interviews revolving around their release of Road To Escondido. |
Terry Gross had a really interesting interview with Cale on Fresh Air. He was remarkably self effacing about his influence on Clapton and others. Almost shy. Seemed like a fella you could have a beer with no matter who you are.
