I picked up bedbugs when I was traveling a lot a number of years ago. Got rid of them by killing them one by one. We have a cathedral ceiling on our bedroom. Once they bit, they'd head up the wall to the top of the ceiling. Put a long PVC pipe on the end of a small shop vac and I'd suck them up and then spray a bunch of insecticide into the shop vac. Took a while but if you get them immediately after they eat a meal, they can't reproduce. We also searched them out in the box springs.
