The high unemployment rate, if you take a look at the details, consists of many sectors outside of manufacturing. For instance, unemployment among teens and young adults isn't 8.2%, it's more like 20%. Then there's the high rate among former public sector workers.

Those are all irrelevant, IMO. We cannot simply buy from an American firm because it is an American firm. We have to see what their pricing is unless we simply want to subsidize Lockheed, Boeing, etc, etc. Barring some ultra sensitive technology which I suspect this is not.
