Bikini Parade
The annual 'Paddlefish Days' celebration in Madison Lake, Minnesota may never be the same. A tanning salon owner is planning a "Bikini Parade" for July 28th.
Cynthia Frederick, the Owner Electric Beach Mankato Tanning Salon, will charge marchers $25 each to raise money for a breast cancer prevention foundation. She wants to see 451 women marching in droves down Main Street to get into the Guinness Book of World Records.
"I want to encourage tasteful bikinis. This is not an about trying to create Girls Gone WIld in Southern Minnesota," says Frederick.
The Madison Lake city council says the bikini march isn't family-friendly, and even asked the League of Minnesota Cities if the group can be stopped. But according to city administrator, Kelly Steele, there's no statutory authority for the city to deny them from participating in the parade.
