I am by no means a mechanic, but I've always banged lightly on the starter to see if that will get it to start. Starters, form what I gather, just don't go out, but rather slowly die. First, maybe 1 out of 10 times won't start. Then 3 out of 10, etc...Of course check the battery and connections first. Good luck, and keep us posted.
