Partition the hard drive. Put Windows on 2 partitions with data on a 3rd. Find a partition cloning program. There are several decent free ones out there.
Make a Linux live CD. Boot into Linux and manually delete the windows system files. Find a Linux virus program that scans Windows disks. Reinstall windows on a partition. Get Kapersky TDSSKiller, Combofix, MBam & Avira. Run in the order given.
When OS is clean, clone your system partition so you have at least 3 operating systems. Install Linux on 1 or 2 more partitions.
Bleepingcomputer and majorgeeks both have good virus help forums but they have more requests than helpers.
If you switch to Linux, you may need to use an older version than current. Just download and create the live disk until you find one that works on your hardware. I'm at Ubuntu 8.10 on my desktop & 12.something on my laptop.
Your data is backed up? Mine wasn't (years ago) and the computer store asked how importand I thought the data was - apparently not very. I hope this helps. It was learned after much repeated virus problems that the local computer store didn't/couldn't fix.
