We had the 4.6 V8 in our Lincoln Town car. Put just less then 200,000 miles on it and it got good highway mileage. It always did burn some oil, a quart every 800 miles on the highway. But over the dozen or more years we owned it, put on one set of wires, 2 sets of spark plugs and one time I had to get it towed in when on a very cold morning it could not read the engine position sensor. I think it is a really great engine.
