Why did he say this? Who was his audience? What point did his intended audience take from this?

To make some feel like they do not have the recognition they ought to have. It's time those on a high hill know that we made the conditions that allow them to make so much money ...

It's a us against them ploy- one of the most common tactics to motivate crowds by speakers.
