thank you guys, that's very helpful. the manifolds match the engine, all cali. the air filter housing i already picked up looks like the one in the bay pic, so maybe my guy has just forgotten how the 85 is meant to be hooked up. i am going to picknpull tomorrow (two 85s in newark, hopefully not 126s) and i will look for the hose which apparently connects the filter housing to the turbo.

still have the 240d pancake type housing as well but i assume the bucket type would perform better.

mach4, your setup is nice and simple. i love the debate repellent too, it's very effective!
