So I took off the valve cover and pulled the injectors on my 1990 300 Turbo Diesel, but then when I put the injectors back in, I realized that I had no idea which way the lines went back on in between each of the injectors.

Since I put it all back together, I am getting less power and constant smoke out the exhaust which makes me think I'm not burning all the fuel because an injector line is backwards or something.

Is this possible? Is there a right and a wrong way to putting the lines back on? If so, how to I know which goes where?

I can post some pictures of it if they are needed to understand what I'm talking about.
