I think you are picturing the Injector Fuel Return Hoses. The little Nipples on the Injector #8 in the picture both go into the same Chamber and there is no direction except that the Fuel goes out of both of the Nipples.

So as long as the very Last Injector has one Nipple Plugged and the First Injector is connected to the fuel Return line it does not matter how the other lines are connected as long as the Return Line goes from one Injector to the other.

I also think that if you did get them wrong the Fuel Pressure would build up inside and pop the Hose off one of the Nipples.
