The fuel/oil/temp gauge will swap right in. I swapped in a gauge from a 79 or older into our 85 300D, it is in "F" for the temp and "PSI" for the oil.

If down the road you want to swap the spedo, you need to use an 85 spedo for the 85 CD. 85 used the 2:88 Diff and the 80 (assuming it is a 300D) used a 3:46 Diff. the spedo is geared to the Differential.
