Can't you get a speedy sleeve for that balancer? If so, that will take care of the worn groove.

My wife had a Four Runner which is basically a Toyota pickup chassis. It was probably the most trouble free 200,000 miles we've ever had on a vehicle. Once the kids grew up she wanted something smaller. If she still had it, it would probably still be running.
