I've flown in on a perfectly bright sunny day only to land in a city where the noon sun is a blurry weak yellow spot in a dingy gray sky. I've seen rivers and lakes of every color. You don't drink water that hasn't been boiled, and sometimes you want to pour a film off the top too.
