Take a can of pepper spray with you too. Have your witness immediately spray it in his eyes, nose and mouth if the douchebag rushes you or attacks you.
Then YOU take out your cell phone, dial 911 and scream bloody murder and hang up in the middle of the scream -- I GUARANTEE you a 911 hangup will bring the cops over ( "Code 3" ) right away. To them it could be a murder or attempted murder "in progress".
