Just dropped the sedan off at the mechanic to have ball joint replaced. Before I went I put it up on ramps and rolled under it to take a peak again (should have taken pics, sorry) and do some "lubing" so that I wouldn't be pulled over for violation of any noise ordinances, haha. I squirted some lubricant where the steering shaft?? comes down before the steering coupling. It did not make a sound (8-10 miles) all the way to the mechanic. I was unable to speak to my mechanic other than telling him what I needed done, that I already had the new Lemforder ball joint in the car, and to call me when he does it so that I can watch and learn. I will be changing the tie rods, repacking the front wheel bearings, and hopefully fixing the cause of the steering squealing. Thanks in advance for any more suggestions.
