Regarding the murder of the US ambassador and his staff, this is hardly surprising given the kind of islamonutjobs who emerged from the wood work after the "arab spring". Making excuses for these clowns is pathetic. They do not have the right not to be insulted and they need to be hounded down and exterminated to a man.
I have to say I wonder what the hell the Marines were doing while all this was going on. We do still have marines as embassy security do we not?

Id call it respecting freedom of religion honestly. I see no reason to chip away at the American ideals of freedom and personal liberty just because i'm sick of religious extremists playing to the personal prejudices of the mob.
What you indirectly advocate, is surpression of religions you find distasteful, and perhaps the color of skin as well?
