No, Mercedes never offered a chrome wheels option in that era... though many dealers may well have.

Unfortunately not all chroming jobs are created equal, and a good-quality job costs. So many older Mercedes show up with deteriorated chromed rims, either due to age and lack of upkeep, or poor quality chroming to start with.

My 300td came to me with the old chrome bundt wheels painted over, and the paint job had started to wear off too. Doubly attractive.
