As opposed to getting one's world view from other forms of "entertainment."

Like talking heads who are better suited to be "entertainers" than journalists. Most of the name brand guys/gals are too absurd to even wear the title "thoughtful commentator."

Anybody else miss Walter Cronkite? Dan Rather? Mike Wallace? Early days of CNN when they actually reported news? I wish I was able to toss Edward R. Murrow in there as one I miss, but he was before my time.
