hmmmm I did this job a few months ago and it was fairly easy once the spring was off. The two bolts use locking nylon nuts, these are by the control arm bushing, you also need to remove the bolt that hold the ball joint in place. After I removed the locking nuts, I was able to get the bolt out fairly easy.....try using a jack to lift up slightly on the LCA so that the weight is not on the bolts and see if that helps.

PS: I kept a hammer on standby just incase.....the name of the hammer was Thor. It was big and heavy. I didn't have to use it.
