In your area, it's probably known as Carl's Jr. I actually liked the burgers from CJs better than Hardees. Growing up, we had a Burger Chef that had the best cheese burgers around. They were bought out by Hardees, and homage is paid to Burger Chef whenever they bring the Big Chef out...which was Burger Chef's signature burger.
I have great love for In-N-Out, and miss it dearly...nothing better or easier to order than their food. No BS on the menu, just straight up quality food at a decent price.
I do occasionally crave a cheapie burger from McDonalds...but not too often.
Burger King has a different taste than the rest, due to the flame broiling.
5-Guys is too darned expensive for me, and there's no way in hell that I'll ever eat at Red Robin...nastiest food I've ever had.
When it boils down to MY favorite...A Frisch's Big Boy Burger wins each time. Their signature tartar sauce makes it perfect. The closest one to my current location is Cleveland...2.5 hours away.
Trying to target the best of all time is impossible...there's so many different tastes from different regions of the nation.
