I still feel bad for what happened to many home purchasers. Of course there were also the typical irresponsible ones. On the otherhand there were far more people that tended to act responsible that got caught up in the mess.

Imagine being young and saving with difficulty for a few years at least. Then paying what the market price on average was. Seemingly out of the blue a few months later realising that the properties valuation was cut signifigantly and you are going well underwater.

That has got to be hard on the head mind the wallet. The lesson seemed to be inherant to me at least. That trust in financial institutions should be taken much less at face value from that point forward..
