If the Buyer test drove the Car before the sale and knew there was no issues with the Car when he bought it is really His problem. Unless you said you would give Him some sort of warranty.

His conduct after He saw the Car was in trouble also is His responsibility.
He made a decision to drive the Car possibly to death.

This sounds like the sort of luck I have we I try to earn and extra Dollar selling something.

Unforunatly the most babied and well cared for Car can suddenly develop a problem.

Buying a used Car is always a gamble; it does not matter if it is a Private Party or Used Car Dealer is the Seller.
