These cars have rear mounted transmissions for even weight distribution. Replacing the carriers is actually quite an effort. Shop around for prices at your local Porsche specialists before deciding if it's as good a bargain as you may think.

I have to do the same job on my 928, some time down the road when I finish up with my other cars.
