The 240D brake vacuum line had a little hard rubber or plastic junction where a smaller line split off to the shutdown switch. That little piece broke from heat and age I guess and the car would not turn off at the key. Phil had a hard time finding the replacement line as apparently the euro 240's is different. Took about a month to get the new line and about a hundred bucks as I recall from MB in europe. Meanwhile, I used JB weld dough, some little snippets of drink stirring straws and molded an entire new one. It worked fine. I sold the car that way and forgot to give the new owner the part.
