If it meets Dextron III spec then it's "approved."

I have never heard specific feeback on Amsoil trans oil prior to Charlie's recommendation. But I have previously read great reviews by those who switched to Mobil 1.

Asking most mechanics about synthetic fluid is, in my experience, a Jeopardy "What is... I no like" deal. Mechanics by instinct warn away from things they aren't familiar with... and I have found few outside the performance/tuner orbit around here who know fact one about synthetic lubricants.
