On top of that, he recently told me that they now have reached the point where they examine each part now when it arrives to determine if they want to install. This now even applies to dealer-supplied items. He said he has recently seen GM stuff he called "an embarrassment to charge a customer for."
I generally try to support my independent, locally owned european-marques parts store where I can. But recently I have been astounded at a couple of the conversations we've had over certain lines (URO principally) where they basically tried the line that they've never heard anything bad about the stuff.
Really? As the saying goes: I was born at night... just not last night....

I didn't figure out the first time I read what the part highlighted in red ment.
They were looking to see if the Part had be installed before because the previously installed part was one that someone brought back to the Parts store because it had a problem and instead of sending it back to the re-builder under warranty the simply put it back in the Box and put the defective part back on the Shel for re-sale.
