My oldest daughter is a Pediatrician. When folks start going on about how much docs are paid I always say consider this.....it takes 11 years before they can start working in their chosen professoin (or so), they come out with maybe a quarter of a mil of debt, they get calls in the middle of the night, and consider how it is when they have their first patient (in my daughter's case a child) dies.

She worked hard to get the license and she works hard at the profession, taking calls at all hours from patients.
