Well, excuse me, but the W124s DO have rear vents. Just move your front seats all the way to the front and you should see a BIG airvent at floor level under EACH seat, which keep rear passengers comfortable with hot air in the winter (for models equipped with the automatic A/C system, like the one standard in the U.S.).

With the regular Euro A/C system you can even send COLD air thorough those vents, and even select compressor cold air to the right footwell and hot air the left (or viceversa).
