It would be a major self inflicted blow to My Self-esteem; something I try to avoid.

But, it is good to know that peening seems to work; you never know what you might have to do when you are in a bind.
I've been working on Benz cars for 35 years - maybe I know something by now? I'd feel like an idiot for wasting time and money buying that espensive tool. I don't loan out my tools and don't ask to borrow either. I ask for help for advice, which is different, and generally saves me more time and money than needless tools.
I know how to peen rivets because I did it for years on knife sections on combines and other equipment. Believe me, it won't come off and if I thought there was a chance of that happening, I wouldn't do it.
