What do you mean ECU reads error? You mean in the odometer section in the instrument cluster????
Where is the code "0700" is that in the trans control unit???
Will the shift lever move out of park? (I know the engine isn't running, but say if you wanted to put it in neutral and push the car can you do it? Without doing the manual override?).
If you turn on the car (ignition switch to on) and step on the brake will the stop lights work (I know sounds unrelated, work with me here).
Do you get all the normal idiot lights coming on when you turn the key to on?
Strong possiblity, (I thought of this later, after I answered your first question) is the ignition switch, these are the cassette-style ignition switches and are prone to failure, although never heard of one make the engine quit, but definitely cause a no-start.
Need to answer questions before I can move on.
