What module has a code 0700, not familiar with a code 0700 so want to know if that is from the ecu or trans module (etc), not sure why you say the code was read before it died, why were codes even being read before it died? See what I mean, this is confusing.
No I wouldn't pull out the ignition switch yet, based on what I am reading.
I would jump power to the starter solenoid and see if it will crank.
Or you could turn the key on and see how many dead fuses you have that would involve the control units.
You might also investigate blown fuses elsewhere, there should be either a base module or a K40 relay that has fuses in it, usually in the area of the right read underhood area, usually under plastic covers.
