Yes, the factory did make them for a 1981. There was flat style and one similiar to the way your car looks now. Many ppl have Bosch, but I got the flat style fernel glass ones by Hella.

They are costly, but you can really see much better. Oh, there's a ground on the passenger side fender close to the headlight. Make sure it's clean and tight. Viseably noticable as a dimmer passengerside headlight. See ppl driving like this all the time.
