I had the same situation when I was 19...However, it took almost 10 years for her parents to talk her into leaving me. Honestly, if it wasn't for her dad, I'd still be married to her. I need to send him a thank you card...
In all seriousness...I ended up with 3 generally good kids out of the deal. I won't meddle in my daughter's relationships unless she's being abused or he's generally mistreating her. I hated when my ex's dad did it to me, so I won't do it to my kids. I will, however, warn this young man about what will happen if he tries to run...the courts WILL attach every penny he makes for the next 18 years, no matter how small a paycheck he gets.
