I detect a strong smell of elitism in this thread -- looking down your middle class noses at people who can ill afford to shop at Macy's.
Don't misunderstand me B. I visit WM much more frequently than Macy's. I went to Philly for the sole purpose of hearing the Wanamaker Organ recital. A belated birthday gift to myself.
There is a Macy's much closer to my home than that one. Prolly 2 or 3 'tween here and Center City.
While there, I also walked down the street around City Hall to the Comcast Center Holiday show. A free show on their lobby digital HD screen. A class free crowd, all enjoying themselves.

First time I've ever been called elitist.
