This is going to be a very long, expensive project. Took me months to do just an intake reseal + rebuild on my 560 along with a chain. You always forget a part, get pissed off, find other issues that need to be repaired, etc You are better off buying a used 5.6L longblock if you are inexperienced with these V8s.
If that is not practical, just pull the motor and trans as one unit and get to work. Rebuilding it in car is just plain silly due to limited access.
