I call BS on that meme. It's trotted out by people all the time but the inherent fallacy is never highlighted. Prior to the shrinkification of society in the 60s' whacking badly behaved kids was pretty normal. Your ancestors were not child abusers for doing so. They were parents disciplining their kids.
