I use a gallon of white vinegar to periodically clean my dishwasher.

I pour the whole gallon into the tub and let it sit for a couple hours.

You'll be shocked at the amount of mineral deposits that dissolve and bubble and foam up.

After a few hours of this, I run a full cycle.

The whole inside ends up as clean as a whistle.
