Yeah that price seems a bit high but not crazy, its probably a $350 rifle.

Good rifles are a great place to park money, but you just can't shoot them to much. This is why I like modern rifles I can shoot them a lot, beat on them, etc and not feel guilty.

If I treated my Fn49 or M1 Carbine like I do my Sig when I go camping I'd feel guilty as can be. I love looking at and shooting my old stuff once in awhile. But I like taking a modern rifle, getting the barrel steaming by cutting down a tree, than laying it in the mud if I need to put it down and not care. I can always get parts for the modern stuff, not so much for a 1911 Swiss rifle. Plus modern rifles are built out of pretty durable stuff, I don't think its possible to really hurt them. The Scar for example I'm pretty sure you could store it under water and not bother it, its all plastic, stainless, and coated aluminum.
