Everyone is spending their money on EBR's, so now is the time to buy collectable firearms.

If I had some spare cash lying around I'd buy one of those SVT40's, a couple were early war construction to, one a Fin capture.
I'm watching two of those auctions...one has a scope with a reserve that I feel is way too high, the other is a forced numbers matching (electro pencil etch).

I've fallen in love with Soviet weapons...built like tanks, and just about as heavy.

My neighbor came over yesterday with a M44 Tula with a 1944 build date that he recently picked up for a song. It's currently in my basement, waiting on me to take it apart and completely clean all of the cosmoline off and out of it. I enjoy seeing the difference in manufacturing style of these prior and during the war. Prior, there was much more time to make them look good as well as fire well. During the war, it was more of a balls to the wall effort...lathe marks, mill chatter, etc is easily seen on the barrels and receivers, but they are still great shooters.
