I emailed the the offeror and asked:

I've never seen a 6.9 with a top speed of 85 mph? They are known to effortlessly cruise at about 120 with the speedo going up to 160. Whats the deal here?

His reply:

i there,

you are right. But original cars titled in California had an 85 Miles
speedometer as far as I know. I also got a 1979 Texas 6.9 with a 160 MPH speedometer. I do not know why there is that difference.

I bought this car as a second car to have parts for the Texas car which has only 69,000 Miles on it. When I got the California one, it turned out to be almost in better mechanical shape than the Texas car. My mechanic drove it home and it really runs strong.

I sell this car and later on also the Texas car since I got a 1981 5,800 KM 6,9 out of Germany, which I run into after I got those two cars.

I collect cars as a hobby.

Best regards
